One of the overriding emotions (along with love) that new parents expereince is pride. The proud glow of watching your little one achieve the milestones that make growing up so much fun, could mostly light the world.
Milestones can be tricky things though, because they aren’t these hard and fast rules that need to be obeyed. Milestones are achieved when the baby is good and ready. If they’re earlier than what is expected, or a few months later, it doesn’t matter. According to Tanya R. Altmann, MD, author of Mommy Calls (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2008) it should only be a concern when your child is behind on a number of the biggies – like not smiling and rolling over.
Apart from being important developmental milestones, theses moments of achievement are also the little things that make parents smile, giving them the warm and fuzzies! Remembering and recording them has been made easy, colourful and whimsical with the beautifully illustrated Milestone Cards. Best of all, they can be used for pregnancy milestones, the first year and beyond.
